Safety Manager and Deputy Compliance Monitoring Manager

The Safety Manager and Deputy Compliance Monitoring Manager will serve as the central point of contact for the development, oversight, and continual improvement of the organisation’s Safety and Compliance Management System. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience and strong expertise in applying aviation safety standards and safe operational practices. In this role, the selected individual will also be responsible for monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of the compliance system through audits, inspections, and ongoing collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the highest levels of safety and operational excellence are maintained
Safety Ownership & Accountability
This role carries direct responsibility for driving the organisation’s Safety performance in practice. The successful candidate will be expected to actively lead Safety initiatives, ensure effective follow-through on Safety actions, and escalate concerns where Safety ownership or delivery is insufficient elsewhere in the organisation. This is a hands-on role requiring sound judgement, independence, and the confidence to challenge, when necessary, in the interest of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Safety Risk Management
- Perform hazard identification and conduct risk assessments, facilitating risk management activities.
- Facilitate Management of Change (MoC) risk assessments and follow up on corrective actions.
- Be accountable for ensuring that safety actions are implemented effectively and in a timely manner, including escalation where progress is inadequate.
- Drive and oversee the implementation of actions to mitigate risks as listed in the Safety Action Plan, ensuring effectiveness and appropriate follow-up.
Safety Performance & Reporting
- Monitor safety performance against the organisation’s safety policy and objectives.
- Provide periodic safety performance reports to the Safety Review Board and the Accountable Manager.
- Provide authoritative advice on safety matters and actively influence decision-making to support safe and compliant operations.
- Ensure that safety training is delivered and meets acceptable standards.
Safety & Occurrence Reporting
- Manage the safety reporting scheme and the occurrence reporting system, including initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence investigations.
- Ensure the maintenance of safety management documentation and records.
Compliance Monitoring & Quality Assurance
- Carry out audits, raise findings where required, and take ownership of corrective action follow-up, including escalation where findings are not adequately addressed.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of the organisation’s management system processes.
- Monitor company operations, subcontracted activities, and the effectiveness of the Compliance Monitoring System.
- Ensure timely and effective implementation of corrective actions resulting from audits.
- Provide regular feedback to the Accountable Manager regarding audit results and management system performance.
- Recommend approvals, limitations, or suspensions based on audit outcomes.
- Authorize auditors based on competency assessments and participate in personnel competence evaluations as required.
- The Postholder will support compliance and quality functions across Part-145, Part-CAMO, Part-147 and Part-21 organizations, as applicable within the Group approvals.
Documentation & Manual Management
- Contribute to updates and amendments of Operations Manuals, Airworthiness Manuals, Management Manuals, and the Compliance Monitoring System.
- Monitor and maintain the quality and accuracy of all company handbooks and manuals.
Personnel Competence
- Ensure subordinate staff are competent in their duties, procedures, safety matters, and human factors.
- Ensure the competence of personnel involved in airworthiness management and airworthiness reviews is assessed and maintained annually.
Communication & Stakeholder Liaison
- Maintain open correspondence with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Actively participate in company management and safety meetings, including Safety Review Board (SRB) meetings.

Skill Requirements:
- Knowledge of ICAO standards and European requirements on safety management.
- Good understanding of safety investigation techniques and root cause methodologies.
- Good understanding and promotion of a positive safety culture.
- Have practical experience and expertise in the application of Aviation Safety Standards and Safety Operating practices.
- Understanding of safety risks in the aviation industry.
- Knowledge of Safety Management System requirements and their application.
- Knowledge of Human Factors principles and of safety management systems based on the EU management system requirements and ICAO Annex 19.
- Previous experience in a CAMO environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of auditing techniques, including planning, conducting, and reporting.
- Proven ability to manage time and workloads effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications/Experience:
- 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years are in the aeronautical industry within a safety management position.
- The candidate should have a relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education that is acceptable to the Company. ‘Relevant engineering degree’ means an engineering degree from aeronautical, mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionics or other studies that are relevant to the maintenance and/or continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components. OR
- 5 years of work experience to cover an appropriate combination of experience in tasks related to aircraft maintenance, and/or continuing airworthiness management and/or surveillance of such tasks.
- Knowledge of a relevant sample of the type(s) of aircraft managed or maintained by 3PlexAero, gained through a formalised training course. These courses should be at least at a level equivalent to Part-66 Appendix III Level 1 General Familiarisation and could be provided by a Part-147 organisation, by the manufacturer, or by any other organisation accepted by the Company.
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance methods and knowledge of EU Regulation (EU) No 1321/2014 and Regulation (EU) No 748/2012.
